AHRC - Specific Requirements

Applicants / Grant Holder

General Information

This named person must have a registered Je-S account in order to complete and submit their proposal; they should also ensure that their correct email address is listed in their Je-S account, as this address will be used to notify them of the outcome of the proposal.

For Collaborative Doctoral Awards

This should be the person designated as the Lead Applicant, or Principal Investigator (PI), from the HEI. This person must be of postdoctoral standing with a contract of employment at an HEI.

For International Placements

Early Career Researchers should select themselves as the 'Grant Holder'.

Students cannot be named as Grant Holder, therefore they should instead select the person nominated by their UK research organisation.

This should be the person designated as the proposed Director from the managing research organisation for the ESRC Doctoral Training Partnerships/ Centres for Doctoral Training calls.

MRC Specific Requirements

Grant Holder

The lead supervisor of the project at the academic institution. Give details of the person to whom all MRC correspondence should be sent to regarding the processing and outcome of the proposal and to whom any related queries should be directed.

The name and organisation details of the primary supervisor of the PhD student need to be entered on this screen. Please ensure the primary applicant is eligible to apply.

NERC - Specific Requirements

Directed Research Studentship

This should be the main supervisor. Select the person, organisation and department. You could add a new person, if the applicant is not listed, but we would expect applicants for a NERC studentship to be Je-S registered.

Industrial CASE Studentship

The lead supervisor of the project at the academic institution. Give details of the person to whom all NERC correspondence should be sent to regarding the processing and outcome of the proposal and to whom any related queries should be directed.

Doctoral Training Partnership

The applicant should be an individual from the Administrative Lead Partner and they will be the administrative lead/head of the DTP. They will be the main point of contact for NERC on behalf of the DTP.

STFC - Specific Requirements

Industrial CASE/CASE-Plus Studentships

The Grant Holder must be the academic supervisor at an eligible UK University or research institute. Give details of the person whom all STFC correspondence should be sent to regarding the processing and outcome of the proposal and to whom any related queries should be directed.
