Background Information

Please complete this section to update the details of the student if the student terminated their studies prematurely (i.e. before the planned end of the funded period). The section must be completed regardless of the length of time the studentship was held.

Termination Date

A Termination Date should be selected, and this should be the date that the student’s studies formally ended. To add the date click on the calendar icon Clicking on the Month at the top or the arrows to change the year and month as appropriate. Alternatively enter the date in the DD/MM/YYYY format.

Termination Reason

Select a reason for termination from the drop down menu. These are intended as broad categories:

If Other is selected, further information must be provided in the free-text box.

Further Information (max of 4000 characters including spaces and returns)

The “Further Information” section is optional (unless ‘Other’ has been selected as the ‘Termination Reason’).

The free text ‘Further Information’ box is available for users to include more detailed information of the student termination.

Note: The Termination should only be used for students who have failed to complete their Studentship. If they have completed their Studentship earlier than expected, please amend the Funding End Date within the “Researcher Training Dates” section and the ‘End Date at Organisation’, within the Research Organisation section.

To remove the details entered select the button. This will remove the information from all of the fields.
