Researcher Co-Investigator (Post Type not applicable on research proposals for AHRC and ESRC)

Background Information

A Researcher Co-Investigator is a post doctoral research assistant who merits appropriate recognition for making a significant contribution to the preparation of the proposal and the ensuing research. Note: for EPSRC this is > 50% of contracted hours.

This Post Type is a Directly Incurred Cost ie time spent on the project working on the project will be supported by an auditable record for its duration. When a person is contracted to work 100% of their time on a single project (whether they are working full-time or part-time) timesheets are not necessary. In all other cases, timesheets or project records are required.

Note: Research Organisations submitting a FEC proposal for research grants and fellowships to the UKRI Research Councils can recover costs for the Apprenticeship levy by adding the charge to Directly Allocated or Directly Incurred Staff. Further guidance can be found here: https://www.ukri.org/funding/how-to-apply/apprenticeship-levy/
