If the proposal is related to one or more proposals previously submitted to the Council, select the appropriate relationship from the list and enter the Council's reference number(s).

Reference numbers must be entered using the correct format to be recognised by the Je-S system.

The same application should not be submitted for consideration by more than one Research Council at any one time.

If Re-submission is selected you may be asked to provide a reason for resubmission, if so a brief reason (< 100 characters) must be given, e.g. invited by EPSRC panel.

- THE FOLLOWING IS COUNCIL SPECIFIC GUIDANCE -

AHRC specific - Related Proposals

Although each proposal should constitute a standalone research project, it may be appropriate to select 'Continuation' if your project continues work on a resource or in an area for which you have previously sought funding. Applicants to the Follow-on Funding schemes must select the 'Continuation' option and enter the grant reference number of the funded project on which their new proposal is based.

BBSRC specific - Related Proposals

Enter the reference number of any current research grants held by any of the applicants that are on a subject related to the proposed project.

Old BBSRC reference numbers (pre Je-S) must be entered using the correct format to be recognised by the Je-S system. The leading numbers and slashes should be omitted, leaving just the letter(s) and five digits. For example reference '123/A45678' should be entered as 'A45678'. New BBSRC numbers (beginning 'BB/') should be entered in full.

If the application is for continuation of a current project, an interim report on progress to date must be included with the new application and submitted as attachment type final/interim report.

The Interim Report form and guidance can be downloaded from the BBSRC website.

Applicants must declare whether the new proposal relates to a previously submitted outline application or is a re-submission of a previous application.

Please note that ESRC will only accept 'invited' re-submissions (further guidance can be viewed at http://www.esrc.ac.uk/funding/guidance-for-applicants/resubmissions-policy/

Seminars Scheme

Applicants declaring proposal is the continuation of a current project are required to submit a covering letter (maximum two pages). See specific scheme guidance

Previous Proposals

Enter the reference numbers of any support sought or received from the ESRC in the past five years. Please note that this only relates to previous ESRC research awards.

Your application will not be considered if any end-of-award report on an ESRC award held by any of the applicants is overdue. Some ESRC awards require formal progress reports.  Where such an award is held by one of the applicants, an up-to-date report should be included with this application.  Where any applicant holds a current ESRC award but a formal report is not required, a progress report of a maximum of 1000 words should be provided.
